In a targeted operation against illegal kite flying and selling, the Hujra Shah Muqeem police arrested a suspect and recovered a cache of kites. The action was taken as part of the ongoing province-wide crackdown on activities violating the kite-flying ban.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered on January 12, 2026, ASI Muhammad Farooq Nawaz received a tip-off from a confidential informant. The informant reported that an individual was openly selling kites in the streets of the Mohallah Imam Bari area.
Suspect Identified: The arrested individual has been identified as Messi Riaz, son of Allah Yar, a resident of Mohallah Bhatti, Hujra Shah Muqeem.
Seizure: During the raid, police recovered 20 colorful kites from the suspect’s possession.
Location: The operation took place within the jurisdiction of the Hujra Shah Muqeem Police Station, specifically near the Mohallah Imam Bari area.
Legal Proceedings
The police have formally registered a case against the suspect under Sections 3 and 4 of The Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying Ordinance, 2001. The recovery was documented through a formal seizure memo (Fard Maqboozgi), and the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.
Administrative Stance
The local police emphasized that the ban on kite flying is strictly enforced to protect human lives from the dangers of metallic or chemical-coated strings. They reiterated that anyone found manufacturing, selling, or using prohibited kite-related items will face stern legal action under the provincial ordinance.
