Sahiwal: 9th-Grade Student Kidnapped at Gunpoint Following Marriage Rejection

SAHIWAL (Report): A 14-year-old 9th-grade student was allegedly abducted at gunpoint in Chak 128/9-L after her family rejected a marriage proposal. Police acted swiftly, arresting three suspects involved in the incident, while raids are underway to safely recover the minor girl.
According to sources, the suspect, Mumtaz Khan, had approached Naseem Akhtar, a widow residing in Chak 128/9-L, seeking the hand of her daughter, Iqra Shahzadi, in marriage. Akhtar declined the proposal, citing that her daughter was a minor at just 14 years old, which reportedly infuriated the suspects.
The following day, Mumtaz Khan—accompanied by his daughter Komal and sons Hassan Sardar and Sikandar—arrived at the scene in a white Suzuki Bolan (Carry Dabba). Armed with weapons, the group forcefully abducted Iqra Shahzadi at gunpoint and fled the area.
Following the incident, the Dera Rahim Police Station registered a case under Section 363 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the victim’s mother. Taking immediate action, the police tracked down and arrested three of the suspects involved in the kidnapping.
Police authorities stated that an investigation into the arrested suspects is currently underway, and targeted operations are being carried out to ensure the safe recovery of the abducted student.
