CTD Sahiwal Arrests Two Terrorists of Proscribed Outfit in Pakpattan and Okara Operations

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sahiwal has apprehended two active members of the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban (Fitna al-Khawarij) during two separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Pakpattan and Okara.

Operation in Pakpattan

Acting on a tip-off that members of a defunct organization were distributing hate speech material near the Pakpattan Railway Station, a CTD team conducted a targeted raid. During the operation, they arrested Matiullah, son of Ghafoorullah, a resident of Malir, Karachi.

Authorities recovered the following from his possession:

  • 10 banned books (including Nida-e-Haq).

  • Other extremist literature and materials.

  • A mobile phone and memory devices.

  • Cash amounting to 6,820 PKR.

Operation in Okara

In a second operation carried out at the main gate of Zaman Public Park on Rao Sikandar Iqbal Road, Okara, the CTD apprehended another suspect identified as Mahir Gul, son of Bismillah Jan, hailing from Bajaur Agency.

The recovery from this suspect included:

  • 8 proscribed books.

  • A mobile phone and electronic storage devices.

  • Cash amounting to 2,240 PKR.

Legal Action and Investigation

The CTD Police Station, Sahiwal, has registered two separate cases against the accused under sections 11F(2), 11W(2), and Section 9 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA). The cases were filed on the complaints of CTD officers Ahsan Raza and Muhammad Anees.

Both arrested individuals have been shifted to the CTD Headquarters for further interrogation to uncover their network and potential plans.
