University of Okara Holds 3rd Convocation; 4,924 Degrees and 72 Gold Medals Awarded

OKARA: The University of Okara (UO) celebrated its 3rd Convocation with great academic fervor, awarding degrees to 4,924 graduates and honoring top achievers with 72 Gold Medals. The ceremony was presided over by the Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, who lauded the institution’s rapid growth.

Academic Achievements and Honors

The convocation saw a diverse group of graduates completing their journey, including 18 PhD scholars who received their degrees for research completed over the past year. The event was attended by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Mubeen, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Wajid, Registrar Jamil Asim, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Faheem Arshad, all of whom participated in the distribution of honorary shields and certificates.

Vision for the Future: AI Center of Excellence

In a significant move toward modernizing education, Chief Guest Rana Sikandar Hayat announced the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Okara.

Addressing the audience, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the university’s rising national and international rankings.

“Under the leadership of Dr. Sajjad Mubeen, this university has shown exemplary progress in both infrastructure and academic standards. I am confident it will soon become one of the top-ranked institutions in Pakistan,” he stated.
