SAHIWAL – Three separate cases of sexual assault involving two young girls and a married woman have been reported across the Sahiwal district. Following the registration of First Information Reports (FIRs) by the victims, police have moved swiftly to arrest three suspects.
Incident 1: Young Girl Assaulted by Cousin in Slum Area
The first incident occurred in the Jhal Road Katchi Abadi (slum area), where a young girl, identified as (L), from a nomadic family, was allegedly raped by her cousin, Muhammad Hussain Sheikh.
According to reports, the suspect lured the victim under the pretext of getting medicine. Instead, he took her to a nearby hut where he subjected her to a sexual assault. On the complaint of Muratib Ali, the police have registered a formal case against the suspect.
Incident 2: Commuter Raped After Being Offered a Lift
The second case took place near Kotla Stop, Chak 113/12-L, Chichawatni. A 20-year-old woman (R) was traveling to Iqbal Nagar by rickshaw when the vehicle broke down.
While she was waiting for alternative transport, two men on a motorcycle, Muhammad Fayyaz and an accomplice, approached her. They offered her a lift, but instead of taking her to her destination, they diverted to a nearby forested area where they raped her before fleeing the scene.
Incident 3: Armed Intention and Assault of a Married Woman
The third incident was reported in Chak 115/9-L. A married woman (M) was alone at home as her husband, Riaz Ahmed, was away in another city for work.
At approximately midnight, a suspect identified as Shahzad Sandhila knocked on her door, claiming her livestock had broken loose and needed to be tied up. When the woman opened the door, the suspect forced his way inside at gunpoint and raped her before escaping.
