Tragedy in Sher Garh: 8-Year-Old Boy Killed, Father Injured in LPG Cylinder Blaze

SHER GARH (Correspondent)

A festive atmosphere turned into a house of mourning late last night in the suburbs of Sher Garh when a gas leakage from an LPG cylinder triggered a fierce fire, claiming the life of an eight-year-old boy and leaving his father critically injured.

The Incident

The incident occurred in the 25/1-AL area of Shergarh during a private gathering. According to reports, the fire was ignited by a faulty regulator on an LPG cylinder. Within seconds, the flames engulfed the room, trapping those inside.

  • Casualty: 8-year-old Ayaan Tariq was tragically burnt alive before he could be rescued.

  • Injuries: His father, Muhammad Tariq Kharal, sustained severe burn injuries while heroically attempting to save his son from the inferno.

Upon receiving the alert, Rescue 1122 and local police rushed to the scene. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighboring houses in the densely populated locality. The injured father was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Public Outcry Against Illegal Refilling

The tragic death of young Ayaan has sparked intense grief and anger throughout the community. Residents have pointed out that the illegal business of LPG decanting (refilling) is thriving unchecked in congested streets and along main roads in Shergarh and surrounding areas.

Locals allege that these “shops of death” operate without any safety protocols or government permits, posing a constant threat to human lives.

Community Demands:

  • Immediate Shutdown: Residents have demanded an immediate crackdown on all illegal LPG refilling stations located in residential zones.

  • Legal Action: They called upon the district administration and police to arrest those operating these hazardous businesses.

  • Safety Inspections: A plea has been made for rigorous safety audits of all gas-related businesses to prevent such heart-wrenching accidents in the future.

Note: The atmosphere in the city remains somber as the funeral for the minor was held earlier today, attended by hundreds of mourning citizens.
