CHICHAWATNI – Two disturbing incidents of sexual assault have been reported in the Chichawatni area, involving a young woman lured via social media and a married woman attacked while working in the fields. Local police have registered cases in both matters and launched investigations.
Incident 1: Social Media Deception (Chak 39/9-L)
In the first case, a young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted after being befriended on social media. According to the victim, the suspect established a relationship with her and promised marriage to gain her trust.
The Trap: Under the pretext of performing a Nikkah (marriage ceremony), the suspect took the victim to a house.
The Crime: Instead of fulfilling the promise, the suspect allegedly assaulted the girl while his accomplice stood guard outside the premises.
Police Action: The Saddar Chichawatni Police have registered a formal case based on the victim’s statement.
Incident 2: Armed Assault in Fields (Chak 22/14-L)
The second incident occurred in the rural outskirts of Chak 22/14-L, targeting a married woman who was performing routine farm work.
The Attack: While the victim was collecting fodder from the fields, an armed man allegedly kidnapped her at gunpoint and moved her to a secluded area of the field where he assaulted her.
The Rescue: Hearing the woman’s screams for help, nearby villagers rushed to the scene and managed to rescue her.
Police Action: The Shahkot Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) following a request from the victim’s husband.
