Section 144 Imposed in Sahiwal for Punjab University Semester Exams

SAHIWAL – To ensure the transparency and security of the upcoming semester examinations, Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq, has imposed Section 144 across the district.

The restrictive measures will be in effect for 30 days, starting from February 2 to March 3, 2026, coinciding with the Punjab University (PU) examination schedule.

Examination Details

The examinations, organized by the University of the Punjab, pertain to the Fall 2025 Semester (Evening Session) for the following programs:

  • BS (4-Year Program): Semesters I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII.

  • ADP (2-Year Program): Semesters I, II, and III.

Security Protocols and Restrictions

The Deputy Commissioner issued the order citing the need to prevent unfair means, maintain public order, and avoid any untoward incidents near examination centers. Key restrictions include:

  • Restricted Access: Only candidates with valid roll number slips and authorized examination staff are permitted within a 100-yard radius of the centers.

  • Prohibited Items: A strict ban is in place on mobile phones, digital diaries, books, guides, solved papers, or any relevant cheating materials within or near the premises.

  • Public Gatherings: All forms of protests, rallies, or public demonstrations are completely prohibited in the vicinity of the centers.

  • Zero Tolerance for Malpractice: Authorities have been directed to strictly monitor and stop any attempts at using unfair means by students or invigilating staff.

Designated Examination Centers

The restrictions will specifically apply to the surroundings of the following institutions in Sahiwal:

  1. Government Graduate College for Women, Sahiwal.

  2. Government Graduate College for Women, Farid Town.

  3. Government Graduate College, Sahiwal.

  4. Government Imamia Associate College, Sahiwal.

The district administration and local police have been instructed to ensure rigorous implementation of these orders. The public is urged to cooperate with the administration to facilitate a peaceful environment for the students.
