Performance Overview

The report was presented during a high-level meeting chaired by District Emergency Officer (DEO) Dr. Khalid Abdullah. While briefing the media, Dr. Abdullah shared that the Sahiwal control room received a total of 417,171 calls in 2025. Out of these, 95,866 were genuine emergency calls, while a staggering 321,305 were irrelevant or bogus.

According to the departmental breakdown:

  • 40,398 patients were shifted to hospitals after receiving life-saving medical aid.

  • 54,664 individuals were provided first aid on the spot.

  • The Patient Transfer Service shifted 2,322 patients between hospitals, including 791 transfers to major cities and 1,531 within the Sahiwal division.

Success of Motorbike Ambulance Service

The Motorbike Ambulance Service proved to be a game-changer in urban areas, maintaining an impressive average response time of 4.08 minutes. The bike medics dealt with 60,813 emergencies, providing on-site first aid to 45,743 people and assisting in the shifting of 16,932 critical patients to ambulances.

The Challenge of Bogus Calls

Dr. Khalid Abdullah expressed serious concern over the high volume of irrelevant and fake calls (321,305). He appealed to the public and the media to play their role in creating awareness.

“Rescue 1122 is a life-saving line. Keeping it busy with unnecessary calls can cost someone their life,” he warned.

Appreciation for Rescuers

The DEO lauded the tireless efforts of rescuers during major events of 2025, including Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha, Muharram, and Christmas. He particularly praised the teams for their dedicated work during the 2025 floods, where rescuers worked around the clock to assist affected populations.

Safety Advisory for the Public

In his message to the citizens, Dr. Abdullah urged the following safety measures:

  • Fog Safety: Use fog lights during periods of low visibility in winter.

  • Road Safety: Never ride a motorcycle without a helmet.

  • Traffic Rules: Avoid speeding and strictly follow traffic laws to ensure the safety of your family and others.
