SAHIWAL – Police in Chichawatni have arrested a man for the alleged rape and blackmail of his friend’s wife in the suburban village of Chak 39/12-L.
Details of the Incident
According to Sadr Police, the victim’s husband operates a hotel in Rahman Town (near Chak 39/9-L). The family resided in a house adjacent to the hotel. Reports suggest that the woman had allegedly developed a relationship with her husband’s friend, who had promised to marry her.
Escape and Alleged Blackmail
Police sources stated that on March 15, the woman fled her home, taking 50,000 PKR in cash and leaving her two children behind to join the suspect.
During this period, the suspect allegedly took her to various locations where he subjected her to sexual assault without marriage. Furthermore, it is alleged that the suspect recorded explicit videos of the victim to use for blackmail.
Police Action and Arrest
Upon realizing the gravity of the situation, the woman returned to her husband’s home and disclosed the ordeal. The matter was subsequently reported to the authorities.
Acting on the complaint filed by the victim’s husband, Sadr Police registered a formal rape case and successfully apprehended the suspect. Investigations are currently ongoing.
