SAHIWAL: A prestigious oath-taking ceremony was held at the Commissioner’s Office Sahiwal, where Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail was formally appointed as the Divisional President of the Punjab Boys Scouts Association.
The Oath-Taking Ceremony
The Provincial Secretary of the Scouts Association, Tariq Qureshi, administered the oath to Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including:
Dr. Saifullah Bhatti (Additional Commissioner Coordination)
Ghulam Hussain Bhatti (Assistant Commissioner General)
Khadim Hussain Mohal (Divisional Director of Secondary Education)
A large number of scouts and educational representatives from across the division.
A Call to Service and Responsibility
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail emphasized that being a scout is not just a title but a profound responsibility. He stated:
“Being a scout instills a spirit of collective effort and public service—values that are deeply rooted in our religion. It is the vital responsibility of our students to play their part in leading the country out of its current challenges.”
He further assured that the divisional administration would provide all possible cooperation to promote scouting activities, ensuring that the youth have the resources to develop leadership qualities.
Focus on Moral Training and Youth Engagement
Provincial Secretary Tariq Qureshi highlighted the role of educators in shaping the future generation. He urged teachers to prioritize the moral training of students to combat the growing sense of hopelessness among the youth.
He also lauded the efforts of Dr. Ihsan Bhutta, Provincial Commissioner of the Punjab Boys Scouts Association, for revitalizing the movement. He noted that Dr. Bhutta has personally visited various divisions and districts to activate the association, focusing on nurturing students into resilient citizens and better human beings.

The ceremony concluded with Provincial Secretary Tariq Qureshi presenting a commemorative shield to Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail as a token of appreciation for his commitment to the scouting movement in the Sahiwal Division.
