CHICHAWATNI – A shocking incident of violence and public humiliation has surfaced in Old Chichawatni, where an elderly man, identified as Allah Ditta, was reportedly tortured and stripped naked by influential individuals at a local dera (outhouse).
The brutal nature of the assault, which involved the victim being tied up and humiliated, sparked immediate outrage, prompting high-level police intervention.
DPO Sahiwal Takes Notice
Following reports of the incident within the jurisdiction of the Sadr Chichawatni Police Station, District Police Officer (DPO) Sahiwal, Muhammad Usman Tippu, took formal notice of the case.
In a statement released by the Sahiwal Police spokesperson, DPO Tippu issued a stern warning to those who believe they are above the law:
“No matter how influential the culprits may be, those who take the law into their own hands will not escape the clutches of justice.”
Police Action and Arrests
On the directives of the DPO, the SHO of Sadr Chichawatni Police Station registered a formal case against the perpetrators. Rapid police action has resulted in:
Primary Suspect Apprehended: One central figure in the assault has already been arrested.
Ongoing Raids: Police teams are currently conducting raids to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the torture.
Investigation Mandate: The DPO has strictly instructed the investigating officers to ensure the inquiry is conducted on merit and that all requirements of justice are fulfilled.
