OKARA (Staff Reporter) – The district-level trials for the Under-17 and Under-19 National Wrestling Championship 2026 officially commenced at the Sports Gymnasium Okara today. Young athletes from across the district participated with great zeal, showcasing their strength and technical skills in the ring.

Chief Guest’s Address
District Sports Officer (DSO) Muhammad Ashfaq attended the event as the chief guest. After reviewing the arrangements and meeting with the participants, he lauded the passion of the young athletes.

Selection Process
The DSO further emphasized that the selection process would be strictly based on merit. The top-performing wrestlers identified during these trials will form the district squad to represent Okara in the upcoming National Wrestling Championship. A final list of the selected candidates will be compiled and released following the conclusion of the trials.
