DC Sahiwal Urges Scholars to Promote Sectarian Harmony at Jamia Faridia’s 65th Convocation

SAHIWAL – Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq has called upon religious scholars to take a lead role in fostering brotherhood and interfaith harmony within society. He emphasized that the district administration is committed to maintaining strong ties with scholars from all schools of thought to ensure a peaceful environment.
The Deputy Commissioner shared these views while addressing a special session held on the occasion of the 65th Annual Certificate Distribution Ceremony (Jalsa Taqseem-e-Isnad) at Jamia Faridia, Sahiwal.
Key Highlights of the Convocation
The event was attended by high-ranking officials and prominent figures, including:

Dr. Muhammad Mazhar Farid Shah (Mohtamim Jamia Fareedia)
Mohammad Azhar Farid, Haji Ehsan-ul-Haq Fareedi, and several city notables.
During the session, the historical and educational significance of Jamia Fareedia was highlighted:
Graduating Class: Over 700 students were awarded certificates this year.
Legacy of Excellence: Since its inception, the institution has produced 19,238 graduates.
Current Capacity: The seminary currently hosts and provides free boarding and lodging for 2,200 students.
Police as Public Servants
District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Usman Tippu also addressed the gathering, reiterating that the primary goal of the police force is public service. He assured the audience that his doors are always open to the public for the swift resolution of grievances.
Moral Leadership and Scholar Conduct
Mohtamim Jamia Fareedia, Dr. Muhammad Mazhar Farid, urged individuals to adopt high moral values. He remarked that a person should win the hearts of their neighbors, fellow travelers, and relatives through both word and deed.
“Scholars must become beacons of light through their own character,” Dr. Mazhar Farid stated. “Only when a scholar’s actions align with their speech does their message leave a lasting impact on society.”
Honoring the Founder
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the high ranks of the founder of Jamia Fareedia, Pir Abu Al-Nasr Manzoor Ahmad Shah, acknowledging his lifelong contribution to religious education and spiritual guidance in the region.
