Success of Diplomacy Depends on “Good Faith” of Other Parties, Says Iran

TEHRAN – The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today emphasizing that the ultimate success of ongoing diplomatic efforts hinges entirely on the seriousness and “good faith” of the opposing parties.

According to the ministry, high-level discussions held over the last 24 hours covered a range of critical and long-standing issues. The talks reportedly focused on:

  • Maritime Security: Matters concerning the Strait of Hormuz.

  • Nuclear Program: Ongoing negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear commitments.

  • Economic Redress: Discussions on war reparations and the complete lifting of international sanctions.

  • Regional Stability: A comprehensive end to hostilities against Iran and the broader geopolitical situation in the region.

A Call for Legal Recognition

Iranian officials stressed that for the diplomatic process to yield results, it is essential for the other side to abandon what Tehran describes as “excessive and illegal demands.”

“The success of the diplomatic process depends on the seriousness and good faith of the other party,” the statement read. “It is necessary for the other side to recognize Iran’s rights and refrain from making demands that go beyond legal frameworks.”

The ministry concluded by reiterating that while Iran remains committed to the negotiating table, a final resolution requires a shift in the approach of its international counterparts to ensure a fair and lasting agreement.
