SAHIWAL (January 14, 2026): In a move to ensure organized urban development and protect public interest, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, has directed immediate legal action against illegal housing societies operating across the city.

Presiding over a high-stakes meeting at his office today, Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail reviewed the status of residential colonies and emphasized zero tolerance for violations of urban planning laws. The meeting was attended by key administrative officials, including:

Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation
Officers from the Planning Branch of the MC and the Environmental Protection Department
Key Directives for Immediate Implementation
During the briefing, the Commissioner issued several stern warnings and operational instructions aimed at regularizing the real estate sector:
Issuance of Notices: Developers of illegal colonies are to be served with formal legal notices immediately.
Clearing Backlogs: All pending cases regarding housing societies must be processed and resolved on a priority basis to avoid administrative delays.
Blocking Non-Compliant Societies: Dr. Asif Tufail made it clear that societies failing to comply with government regulations would have their operations blocked and accounts suspended.
Inter-Departmental Coordination: He urged all relevant departments to work in sync to safeguard citizens from fraudulent schemes and ensure that city expansion follows a structured master plan.
