Sahiwal Hosts Grand “Educational Family Gala” Under CM Maryam Nawaz’s Vision

SAHIWAL (News Desk) – In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a prosperous and informed province, a grand one-day Educational Family Gala was successfully organized at the Sahiwal Hockey Stadium. The event saw massive participation from citizens, including families and students from all walks of life.

The ceremony was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Niaz Ahmad Mughal as the Chief Guest. Other prominent attendees included Rai Samiullah, Deputy Director of Finance from the Directorate General of Population Welfare Punjab, and District Sports Officer Aamir Rashid.

Speaking at the occasion, ADCG Niaz Ahmad Mughal highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to social reform.

“Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is taking unprecedented steps for provincial development, including effective population management, the benefits of which will soon reach the grassroots level,” he stated.

He further emphasized that the Punjab government is utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety, health, and quality education of its citizens. He noted that unplanned population growth remains a significant hurdle to national progress, making such awareness-driven recreational events vital for shifting social attitudes.

The festival served as a perfect blend of entertainment and education. Key activities included:

  • Competitions: Engaging contests for healthy babies and “Best Married Couples” were held to promote family well-being.

  • Youth Engagement: Students participated enthusiastically in quiz programs, national songs (Milli Naghmay), and poster-designing competitions.

  • Cultural Performances: The audience was enthralled by traditional Jhumar dances, a magic show, and a soulful Mahfil-e-Samaa (Sufi music).

  • Family Attractions: Special stalls featured Mehndi and beauty products for women, while food stalls and swings kept the children entertained.

  • Public Services: Free medical screening camps and family planning information desks were set up to provide on-spot guidance to the public.

Closing Ceremony

The event concluded with an award ceremony where prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions. Commemorative shields were also presented to the honorable guests. District Population Welfare Officer Shahid Raza Khan closed the event by thanking the guests and the public for their overwhelming participation.
