Syed Imran Ahmed Shah chairs District Coordination Committee Meeting

SAHIWAL (Montgomery Hall) – Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Convener of the District Coordination Committee, Pir Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, presided over a high-level meeting of the District Coordination Committee today. The session focused on the acceleration of development projects, administrative transparency, and the maintenance of law and order within the district.

Addressing the forum, Federal Minister Pir Syed Imran Ahmed Shah emphasized that the resolution of public grievances and the timely execution of development schemes are the shared responsibilities of the district administration and elected representatives.

“Regular meetings at the district level are essential to ensure policy continuity and to hold officials accountable for their performance,” the Minister remarked.

Law and Order Update

During the meeting, DPO Rana Tahir Rehman provided a comprehensive briefing on the district’s security landscape. He noted that a “comprehensive strategy,” involving closer monitoring of police stations and proactive community engagement, has led to a significant reduction in the crime rate.

Development and Infrastructure Review

The committee conducted a granular assessment of ongoing departmental schemes, focusing specifically on:

  • The Clean Water Authority: Performance review of water filtration and supply.

  • Fund Disbursement: Ensuring the timely release of funds to prevent project stalling.

  • Quality Control: Rigorous monitoring of the pace and standard of construction.
