Commissioner Sahiwal Assures Pakpattan Industrialists of Full Support

SAHIWAL – Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, has emphasized that the promotion of local industries is the only viable path to eliminating unemployment and achieving economic stability. He shared these views during a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Pakpattan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) at his office.
The delegation was led by the President of the Pakpattan Chamber, Azmat Mahmood Chishti. The discussion focused on the industrial development of the Pakpattan district, vocational training for youth, and addressing key urban infrastructure issues.
Key Highlights and Decisions
During the meeting, Commissioner Sahiwal gave sympathetic consideration to the industrialists’ demands and provided the following assurances:
Establishment of Small Industrial Estate: The construction of a dedicated “Small Industrial Estate” for small-scale industries in Pakpattan will be completed on a priority basis. This initiative aims to provide investors with all necessary facilities under one roof.
Skill Development: Dr. Asif Tufail stressed that national progress is impossible without equipping the youth with modern skills. He invited the Chamber to collaborate with the administration to enhance technical training programs.
Patronage for Industrialists: The administration pledged to provide all possible assistance to remove hurdles facing the establishment of new industrial units.

Public Welfare and Educational Improvements
The delegation also briefed the Commissioner on several civic issues, leading to the following commitments:
District Public School (DPS) Enhancement: Steps will be taken to upgrade the educational standards of the school. The Commissioner announced he would personally visit the institution soon.
Darbar Baba Farid (RA): In response to a request for better facilities for pilgrims, the administration is considering the installation of escalators at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar (RA).
Administrative Representation: Positive signals were given regarding the inclusion of Chamber representatives in district committees and opening new memberships at the Officers’ Club.
Commissioner Sahiwal concluded by welcoming the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce in Pakpattan, expressing hope that it would give a new direction to commercial activities in the district.
