Judicial Oversight: AD&SJ Tariq Mahmood Rana Inspects Central Jail Sahiwal

SAHIWAL – In a move to ensure the welfare of inmates and uphold judicial standards, Additional District and Sessions Judge (AD&SJ) Tariq Mahmood Rana conducted a comprehensive inspection of Central Jail Sahiwal earlier today.

Upon his arrival, the Judge was received with a formal Guard of Honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of jail police. He was accompanied during the visit by the Superintendent of Central Jail, Naveed Ashraf, and Magistrate Section-30, Tauseef Adeel Hassan.

Comprehensive Facility Review

Judge Rana toured several critical sections of the facility to evaluate living conditions and the implementation of prison reforms. His itinerary included:

  • The Women’s & Juvenile Wards: Ensuring that vulnerable populations are receiving appropriate care and legal protections.

  • Central Barracks: Inspecting the general living quarters for hygiene and space management.

  • The Hifz Class: Observing the educational and spiritual programs aimed at the rehabilitation of inmates.

Focus on Welfare and Nutrition

A significant portion of the visit was dedicated to the prison’s logistics and dietary standards. The Judge visited the main kitchen, where he personally inspected the quality of ingredients and the cooking process.

During his interaction with the prisoners assigned to the kitchen, Judge Rana commended the high quality of meals and the strict discipline maintained by the staff.

Following the inspection, AD&SJ Tariq Mahmood Rana expressed his satisfaction with the overall management of the prison.
