CCD Police Sahiwal Encounter Near New Railway Crossing

SAHIWAL (Spox Sahiwal Police) – In a late-night encounter near the New Railway Crossing at Chak 84/5L, the CCD Police arrested a notorious proclaimed offender in a critically injured state, while his accomplice managed to escape the scene.
The Encounter at New Railway Crossing
According to police reports, a CCD team led by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zawar was on routine patrol in official vehicle No. 52/SLG. Around 10:30 PM, as they approached the turn toward Yousafwala-Noor Shah Road, two armed dacoits stationed near the New Railway Crossing attempted to intercept the vehicle for a robbery.
Upon recognizing the police mobile, the suspects opened direct fire. The police team immediately took defensive positions and returned fire. The exchange continued as the suspects retreated into the nearby forest.
Arrest and Recovery
Following the shootout, the police conducted a search operation in the area. They discovered one of the suspects, identified as Shiraz (alias Sajjad), a resident of Chak 77/5R, lying in the bushes with serious bullet wounds. The police recovered a .30 bore pistol from his possession.
Rescue 1122 was called to the scene and shifted the injured suspect to the hospital under police custody. His accomplice, identified as Noman Jatt (also a resident of Chak 77/5R), took advantage of the darkness and successfully fled.
Legal Proceedings
Police Station CCD Sahiwal has registered a case against the suspects under sections 353, 186, 393, 324, and 13-2A of the Arms Ordinance on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zawar. Specialized police teams have been dispatched to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect, Noman Jatt.
Separate Crackdown: Dacoit Apprehended at Chak 38/12L
In a separate operation, CCD Police apprehended a dacoit named Amanat Ali near the Chak 38/12L bridge. During initial interrogation, the suspect confessed to several robberies within the jurisdiction of the Saddar Chichawatni Police Station. An illegal pistol was recovered from him, and a formal case has been registered under the Arms Ordinance.
