On the instructions of DPO Sahiwal, Muhammad Usman Tipu, Sahiwal Police has completed a foolproof security plan for the by-elections in the National Assembly constituency NA-143 and the Provincial Assembly constituency PP-203 of Tehsil Chichawatni.
A heavy contingent of police has been deployed to maintain law and order during the elections, ensure the safety of voters, and conduct the elections in a transparent and peaceful manner.
A total of more than 2,100 police officers and personnel will perform duty during the by-elections, including:
13 gazetted officers, 42 SHOs/Inspectors, 324 upper subordinates, 1,218 lower subordinates, 386 lady police personnel, 70 traffic police personnel, and 12 teams of the Elite Force.
For the by-elections in Tehsil Chichawatni, 470 polling stations have been set up, including 105 male, 94 female, and 271 combined polling stations.
Based on security sensitivity, 19 polling stations are categorized as Category A, 115 as Category B, and 336 as Category C.
Additional personnel have been deployed at sensitive locations, while Elite Force and Quick Response Teams will remain alert to deal with any emergency situation.
Category A polling stations will be monitored through more than 80 CCTV cameras and aerial surveillance via drones.
Citizens are requested to show discipline during the elections, follow the law, respect others’ opinions, and avoid any kind of provocation or disorder. Public cooperation is the guarantee of a peaceful environment.
The DPO Sahiwal said that Sahiwal Police is committed to providing complete security to the citizens so that every voter can exercise their right to vote without fear.
Any kind of lawbreaking or mischief will not be tolerated during the elections, and strict action will be taken against violators of the law without any discrimination.
