Brutal Murder in Pakpattan: Police Constable Kills Female Teacher, Sets Body Ablaz

PAKPATTAN– A horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the local community after a police constable allegedly kidnapped and murdered his landlady before setting her body on fire to conceal her identity.

The Incident

According to police reports, Rehana Akhtar, a school teacher and resident of the Hasanpura neighborhood, was kidnapped by her tenant, Police Constable Zahid Sukhera, with the assistance of his accomplices.

The suspects reportedly transported the victim to a remote area within the jurisdiction of the Rang Shah Police Station, approximately 25 kilometers away from the city. After killing her, the perpetrators doused the body in oil and set it ablaze, leaving the charred remains in a field to prevent identification.

Identification and Investigation

The victim’s daughter was tragically forced to identify her mother’s remains by her shoes, as the body had been severely mutilated by the fire.

The formal First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the request of the victim’s brother, Umar Daraz Khan, naming Constable Zahid Sukhera and two others as the primary suspects.

Motive and Arrests

Preliminary investigations and local sources suggest a chilling motive: land grabbing. It is alleged that Constable Zahid intended to illegally seize the victim’s property.

DPO Pakpattan Javed Chaddar has taken strict notice of the incident, vowing that no one is above the law, regardless of their position in the force.

Status of Suspects: Police have successfully apprehended two of the constable’s accomplices during recent raids.

The Main Suspect: Constable Zahid Sukhera remains at large, though police teams are currently conducting raids to ensure his immediate arrest.

“This is a heinous crime that tarnishes the image of the department. Justice will be served swiftly,” stated a spokesperson for the Pakpattan Police.
