Harappa: Young Student Severely Injured in Brutal Attack by Pet Dogs

HARAPPA – A wave of fear and resentment has gripped the suburban village of Tallah Bhalla after a young student was left fighting for his life following a vicious attack by a pack of pet dogs. The family of the victim has formally approached the police, demanding justice from the DPO Sahiwal against the negligent owners.

According to reports published in the Daily Jang, the incident occurred in the village of Tallah Bhalla, under the jurisdiction of the Harappa Police Station. Saif-ur-Rehman, a minor student, was playing in the street when he was suddenly ambushed by “bloodthirsty” pet dogs belonging to a local landowner identified as Rab Nawaz Tallah.
The dogs reportedly mauled the child, leaving him bloodied and severely injured. Rescue 1122 shifted him in the hospital. Eyewitnesses stated that it took a significant effort and physical resistance from nearby residents to finally rescue the boy from the animals’ grip.
Community Outcry and Previous Complaints
Local residents have expressed deep anger, noting that this was an accident waiting to happen. They allege that the landowner keeps highly dangerous and aggressive dogs that are frequently allowed to roam the streets and open public areas unsecured.
Recurring Danger: Villagers claim these same dogs have bitten and injured several passersby and locals in the past.
Negligence: Despite repeated complaints and warnings from the community, the owner reportedly refused to restrain or kennel the animals, leading to this latest tragedy.
Legal Action and Demands for Justice
In the wake of the attack, the victim’s family held a protest and submitted a formal application for legal action at the Harappa Police Station against the owner.
The grieving family has appealed to the authorities to take strict action against influential individuals who jeopardize human lives through such blatant negligence. They are calling on the Punjab government and local police to ensure that such an incident never happens again.
