ARIFWALA – In a harrowing incident that has shocked the local community, a 24-year-old laborer was kidnapped and brutally murdered in Arif Wala over a minor allegation of goat theft. Police have successfully apprehended four primary suspects who have confessed to the crime.

The Disappearance

The victim, identified as Shaukat Ali, son of Ameer and a resident of Minchinabad, had been missing for several days. Shaukat, who worked as a laborer to support his family, left his home but never returned, prompting an exhaustive but initially fruitless search by his relatives.

Police Investigation and Arrests

Following the disappearance, Shaukat’s brother, Qasim, filed a complaint at the Kaboola Police Station. Under the supervision of SHO Inspector Ashiq Abid Mahar, a kidnapping case was registered against four named suspects—Bagh Ali, Faisal, Abid, and Azhar—along with three unidentified accomplices.

Police moved swiftly to take the named individuals into custody. During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to the kidnapping, revealing a motive rooted in vigilante justice.

A Gruesome Confession

The suspects admitted to kidnapping Shaukat Ali based on a mere suspicion that he had stolen a goat. According to police reports:

  • The Murder: Shaukat succumbed to the injuries inflicted during the torture.

  • The Cover-up: To hide their crime, the perpetrators dug a hole in the fields of Village 105 EB and buried the body.

Recovery of the Body

Acting on the information provided by the suspects, police raided the identified location in Chak 143 EB and recovered Shaukat’s remains. The body has been moved for legal formalities.

“A young life was taken based on nothing more than a suspicion,” a police official stated. “We are conducting further investigations to ensure every individual involved in this barbaric act faces the full weight of the law.”

The local community has expressed deep grief and outrage over the incident, calling for swift justice for the slain laborer.
