Traffic Police Sahiwal carried out daily inspections of public transport vehicles
Traffic Police in Sahiwal is making sure the provision of quality travel facilities to the public.

On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood, Traffic Police Sahiwal carried out daily inspections of public transport vehicles.
The purpose is to ensure the provision of quality travel facilities to the public.
From May 1 to May 30 alone, a total of 382,740 vehicles were inspected, and 50,947 vehicles were fined for various violations.
This was revealed by Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority, Wasif Yaseen, during a meeting of the District Coordination Committee held at Montgomery Hall. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Shahid Mehmood.
Providing details of the inspections, he stated that from May 1 to May 31, a total fine of Rs. 49,669,300 was imposed on the owners of the 50,947 fined vehicles, 116 cases were registered, and 1,825 vehicles were impounded.
He further shared that during the same month, Punjab Highway Police inspected 339,015 vehicles, issued 12,709 challans, and imposed fines totaling over Rs. 4.495 million.
Additionally, the police registered 90 cases, impounded 81 vehicles, and during inspections, arrested one proclaimed offender and four court absconders, which he termed a major achievement.
Wasif Yaseen also reported that during this period:
The Regional Transport Authority inspected 2,979 vehicles and issued 559 challans,
Motorway Police inspected 26,296 vehicles, issuing challans to all of them,
Traffic Police inspected 14,450 vehicles and issued 11,383 challans.
These three departments also impounded:
318 vehicles by RTA,
486 vehicles by Motorway Police,
940 vehicles by Traffic Police.
Secretary RTA Wasif Yaseen noted that under the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood, the concerned departments are continuing the public transport inspection drive to ensure vehicle fitness and protect the lives and property of passengers.
