SAHIWAL (Police Spokesperson): On the special directives of DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu, Sahiwal Police have finalized a comprehensive and foolproof security plan across the district to ensure the protection of life and property and to maintain law and order on the occasion of the New Year 2026.
Under the security plan, more than 750 police officers and personnel will be deployed district-wide. The deployment includes seven gazetted officers, 26 inspectors/SHOs, 133 upper subordinates, 403 lower subordinates, along with traffic police personnel, lady police officers, and Elite Force teams.
Special security arrangements have been made at key locations, recreational spots, shopping malls, and major intersections across the city on New Year’s Eve. Foolproof security has also been ensured at churches and other sensitive places, while strict checking, search and combing operations, and effective patrolling will continue at all entry and exit points of the district.
Suspicious individuals and activities are being continuously monitored through Safe City cameras and the police command and control vehicle. To ensure smooth traffic flow and public convenience, traffic police personnel will be deployed on major roads, intersections, and parking areas.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu said that Sahiwal Police remain on high alert to provide complete security to citizens during the New Year celebrations.
He added that the protection of life and property and the maintenance of law and order are the top priorities of the police, and all necessary arrangements have been completed to deal with any untoward situation.
