Sahiwal Police Recover Abducted 8-Month-Old Baby Girl
Sahiwal police have successfully recovered an eight-month-old baby girl who was abducted from Hamid Town, Sahiwal, on December 11.
According to details, two women posing as bank employees offering loans entered the house of the complainant, Naveed Shehzad. At the time of the incident, the baby’s mother, Shameem Akhtar, was alone at home. While she was busy offering prayers, the suspects took advantage of the situation and abducted the infant, Fatima Noor, aged eight months.
Upon receiving information about the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Sahiwal, Muhammad Usman Tipu, took immediate notice and formed a special police team to trace the suspects and recover the child.
Using modern technology, Ghalla Mandi Police arrested one of the suspects, identified as Ayesha, and safely recovered the abducted baby from her custody. Initial investigations revealed that the suspects, Nazia and Ayesha, are mother and daughter. Their alleged plan was to sell the baby to a childless couple in Karachi for money.
DPO Muhammad Usman Tipu visited the affected family’s home and personally handed over the recovered child to her mother. Local residents praised the police for their swift and effective action.
Following the abduction, fear and panic had spread across the area, with citizens particularly concerned about child kidnappings. Police have advised the public to remain vigilant, be cautious of strangers—especially unfamiliar women—and avoid blindly trusting anyone.
