Maryam Nawaz Unveils Mega Road Projects for Sahiwal Division

The Punjab government is launching three mega projects to dualize inter-district highways in the Sahiwal Division in order to provide better transportation facilities to the public.
Under the plan, Sahiwal–Samundri Road, Okara–Depalpur Road, and Vehari–Depalpur Road via Burewala, Arifwala, and Pakpattan will be converted into dual carriageways.
All these mega projects have been included in the Annual Development Budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, and funds have also been allocated for land acquisition and the relocation of utility services.
These three projects reflect the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, under which inter-district roads across the province are being carpeted and dualized.
This was stated by Director Development and Planning Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, who further informed that the Punjab government has allocated:
1.2348 billion rupees for the Sahiwal–Samundri Road,
2.8 billion rupees for the Okara–Depalpur Road, and
2.5 billion rupees for the Vehari–Depalpur Road.
This funding will be used for the acquisition of land for additional carriageways and the shifting of utility services, paving the way for the construction of these roads.
