Municipal Corporation continues Encroachment operation in Sahiwal

Fines totaling Rs. 169,000 were imposed on several individuals during this operation.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Shoaib Iqbal Syed, highly praised the efforts of Municipal Corporation’s Enforcement Inspector Khalid Zia for encroachment operation in Sahiwal.

He said that Khalid Zia’s services for the city are unforgettable, as he worked tirelessly and continued the anti-encroachment campaign with full force despite political pressure.

He added that hardworking officers like Khalid Zia are a valuable asset to their departments. During a meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office, Enforcement Inspector Khalid Zia informed that during the Eid holidays, actions were taken under Section 144 against violations.

This includes burning animal heads and feet (Siri Paye), storing animal hides without approval, and setting up tents on roads for encroachment.

He stated that fines totaling Rs. 169,000 were imposed on several individuals during this period, and FIRs were lodged resulting in the arrest of two individuals.

During the checks, in the jurisdiction of City Police Station, a case was registered and Asif Hussain, son of Saleem Asghar, was arrested for burning Siri Paye.

Similarly, in Yadgar Chowk, a case was registered and Muhammad Ehsaan, son of Muhammad Ashfaq, was arrested for collecting animal hides by the roadside without approval.

On Arifwala Road, cases were registered against Adeel Ahmad (Taj Chicken Shop), Irshad (Hakeem Irshad Qasai), Tahir, son of Ashfaq, Ashraf, son of Sabir Ali (Lahori Nashta Point), and Ali Raza, son of Muhammad Idrees (Bismillah Tikka Shop), for setting up tents and creating encroachments without approval.

Likewise, on Peer Bukhari Road, a case was registered against Mirza Kamran, son of Allah Ditta, for blocking the road by setting up a tent and creating encroachment.

At Jahaz Ground, a case was filed against Muhammad Akmal, son of Khalid Qasai, and Yousaf Hassan, son of Abdul Haq, for placing stalls on the road and violating Section 144 imposed by the Government of Punjab.

In Ghala Mandi, Street No. 6, a case was registered against Shahid, son of Sardar, for burning Siri Paye and violating Section 144.
