A married woman and 18 year old girl raped in Sahiwal city. Sahiwal Police stations Yousafwala and Fateh Sher have registered two FIRs.
In Chak 73/5-L, a landlord’s wife, Samra Shafiq, was on her way to the fields. Muhammad Riaz threatened her with a pistol, took her into a sorghum field, and forcibly raped her. His accomplice, Hamza, stood guard during the act. When Samra Shafiq cried for help, nearby villagers arrived, causing the accused to flee.
In another incident in Chak 82/6-R, a woman named Rubina’s only daughter, 18-year-old Allah Maafi, was alone at home. Her neighbor, Muhammad Ramzan, forcefully entered the house, threatened to kill her, and raped her before fleeing.
Sahiwal Police stations Yousafwala and Fateh Sher have registered two FIRs. The police wrote Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code, on the complaints of Muhammad Jameel and Rubina. Two suspects have been arrested, and investigations are underway.
