SAHIWAL (Sahiwal Police Spokesperson): District Police Officer (DPO) Sahiwal, Muhammad Usman Tipu, on Tuesday addressed a meeting with traffic wardens and issued clear instructions for strict enforcement of traffic laws across the city.
He said that impartial and consistent action was essential to improve traffic discipline in Sahiwal. The DPO made it clear that effective legal action would be taken without discrimination against violations including one-way driving, riding motorcycles without helmets, use of non-standard number plates, illegal parking, underage driving, and lane discipline violations.
Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, DPO Muhammad Usman Tipu said that the number of deaths caused by traffic accidents often exceeds those in murder cases, mainly due to violations of traffic rules and public negligence. He emphasized that strict enforcement of traffic laws aims to protect precious human lives and bring improvement to the overall traffic system.
The DPO further directed traffic wardens to remain active in the field, take action against violators, and also raise public awareness about traffic rules, so that a significant reduction in traffic accidents can be achieved in Sahiwal.
