CHICHAWATNI (Staff Reporter) – A high-profile criminal was apprehended in an injured state following a gunfight with the police in the jurisdiction of Shahkot Police Station. While one dacoit was captured, two of his associates managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Incident Overview
According to details, three armed dacoits had set up a checkpoint near Village 85/12-L in the suburban areas of Chichawatni, where they were busy looting commuters.
A police team on routine patrol spotted the criminal activity. Upon seeing the police mobile, the suspects immediately opened fire. The police retaliated in self-defense, leading to a brief but intense exchange of gunfire.
Arrest and Identification
During the shootout, one of the dacoits was struck by a bullet—reportedly fired by his own accomplices—and was subsequently apprehended by the police. The arrested suspect has been identified as Saeed, alias Saido. Taking advantage of the nighttime conditions, the remaining two suspects fled the scene.
