Robbery Gangs Active in Sahiwal and Chichawatni, Daylight Crimes Becoming Routine

Sahiwal – Robbery gangs have become openly active within the jurisdictions of various police stations in Chichawatni and Sahiwal, with daylight robberies turning into a routine occurrence.

In the areas of Police Station Yousafwala, Police Station Sadar Chichawatni, and Police Station Galla Mandi, robbers looted cash, jewelry, and mobile phones worth Rs 631,500 from travelers and shopkeepers.

According to details, in Chak 53/5-L, robbers held Muhammad Hanif, his wife, and sister-in-law at gunpoint and fled after snatching Rs 19,000 in cash and jewelry worth Rs 100,000. The affected family was returning home after getting off a train.

In another incident at Kashti Stop, shopkeeper Muhammad Nauman, his mother, and brother-in-law were riding a motorcycle when robbers snatched cash and jewelry worth Rs 425,000.

In the third incident near LBDC Canal Bridge, motorcycle rider Allah Ditta was robbed of cash, a mobile phone, and Rs 10,000.

In Chak 39/12-L, Chichawatni, robbers looted Rs 25,500 in cash from shopkeeper Muzammil Manan at his shop and escaped.

Near Chak 133/9-L, rickshaw driver Muhammad Saleem was taking passengers Muhammad Habib and Ali Raza to the vegetable market when robbers stopped them, looted Rs 52,000 in cash and a mobile phone, and fled while firing shots.

Police of Yousafwala, Sadar Chichawatni, and Galla Mandi stations have registered five cases under sections 392 and 382 PPC on the complaints of Muhammad Hanif, Muhammad Nauman, Allah Ditta, Muzammil Manan, and Muhammad Saleem, and have started investigations. So far, no suspects have been arrested.
