Sahiwal: Wanted Dacoit Arrested After Fierce Police Encounter in Harappa

SAHIWAL – A suspected dacoit was apprehended in injured condition following a shootout with the Harappa police late Thursday night, while two of his accomplices managed to escape the scene.

The Incident

The events unfolded when three armed men snatched a motorcycle and cash from a citizen near 2/10-L. Upon receiving the emergency call, the Sahiwal police immediately established blockades (nakabandi) across the entry and exit points of the area.

A police team eventually intercepted the suspects near 100/WM Rajian Wala. Seeing the police, the outlaws opened direct fire, prompting the police to retaliate in self-defense.

Arrest and Recovery

During the heavy exchange of fire, two suspects fled on the recently snatched motorcycle. However, the third suspect was found injured and taken into custody.

  • Suspect Profile: The arrested individual has been identified as Ramzan (son of Balia), a resident of 106/7-R.

  • Criminal Record: According to a police spokesperson, Ramzan is a hardened criminal with a history of multiple cases involving theft and dacoity.

  • Recoveries: Police recovered a 30-bore pistol from the suspect. Additionally, they recovered a Pridor motorcycle that had been snatched a few days prior, linked to Case No. 1443/25.

Current Status

The injured dacoit has been shifted to a nearby hospital under heavy police guard for medical treatment. Meanwhile, Sahiwal police have launched a massive manhunt to track down the two fleeing accomplices.

“We are utilizing all resources to ensure the remaining members of this gang are brought to justice,” stated the Sahiwal Police spokesperson.
