Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Shahid Mahmood conducted a detailed visit of the main route of the mourning procession on Dispensary Road.
Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation Sahiwal, Sheikh Ashfaq, was also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner closely inspected cleanliness, sewerage, drainage, encroachments, street lighting, and other public convenience matters.
He directed that the sewer lines along the route be cleaned immediately to prevent foul odors or water accumulation in case of rain during the procession.
The Municipal Corporation was instructed to make special cleanliness arrangements and to prepare a complete washing schedule before the procession.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that maintaining law and order, cleanliness, lighting, and other basic facilities during Muharram is the district administration’s top priority.
He also met with the organizers of the procession and consulted with them regarding the arrangements.
DC Sahiwal assured that the district administration will ensure the provision of all possible facilities and will continue full cooperation with the organizers.
He expressed his commitment that the district administration and all departments will work in coordination and harmony to ensure a peaceful and secure environment during Muharram.
Meanwhile, he also visited Kot Allah Din and issued special instructions to the concerned officers regarding sewerage issues.
