Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail visits Pakpattan and Arifwala

Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail paid a detailed visit to Pakpattan and Arifwala city. RPO Sahiwal Mehboob Rasheed, Deputy Commissioner Mariya Tariq, and DPO Javed Iqbal Chadhar also accompanied him.

He thoroughly reviewed the ongoing arrangements for the Urs at the shrine of Baba Farid Ganj Shakar. He stated that the facilities provided to the pilgrims should be further improved.

Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail emphasized that foolproof security arrangements must be ensured during the Urs.

He also inspected the control room, mini hospital, ablution areas, and public washrooms established at the shrine.

Commissioner said there would be no compromise on exemplary cleanliness at the shrine and that the washrooms should be cleaned continuously.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Pakpattan to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place for immediate drainage in case of expected rainfall.

Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail and RPO Mehboob Rasheed also inspected the route of the central Muharram procession and stressed that the security of mourners must be a top priority.

He emphasized that event organizers should also be taken into confidence for the monitoring of gatherings and processions.

Later, they visited Arifwala as well. Assistant Commissioner Arifwala Rai Faisal Imran accompanied them.
They conducted a detailed inspection of the central procession route from the main Imambargah to Thana Bazaar and met with religious scholars.

He instructed that streetlights along the Muharram procession routes should be made functional immediately and water sprinkling should be ensured.

Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail expressed satisfaction over all arrangements during the visit.
