CHICHAWATNI (City Press Club): The law and order situation in Chichawatni has taken a turn for the worse as armed robberies and violent attacks continue to surge. In the latest incident, a young man was shot and critically wounded by armed dacoits near Thandi Masjid, within the jurisdiction of the City Police Station.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, two armed robbers intercepted a citizen and deprived him of thousands of rupees in cash and his mobile phone at gunpoint. During the heist, the suspects opened fire, critically injuring a youth identified as Arman.
The assailants managed to escape the scene with the victim’s Honda 125 motorcycle, brandishing their weapons in the air to deter pursuit. The injured youth was immediately rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Chichawatni for emergency medical treatment.
Rising Insecurity and Public Outcry
The incident has sparked a wave of fear and resentment among local residents. Citizens have pointed out that robbery, dacoity, and firing incidents have become a daily occurrence in the Chichawatni circle.
A Pattern of Violence: This attack follows a similar incident just yesterday, where another youth named Mudassar was shot and his motorcycle snatched.
