CHICHAWATNI: Police of Okanwala Bangla Circle arrested a man impersonating a police officer near Chak 99/12-L Chichawatni during a routine checking operation.
According to details, ASI Maqsood Ahmed stopped a young man identified as Saqib Jatt during checking. When questioned, the suspect showed a police uniform kept in a shopping bag and introduced himself as a police officer. However, upon being asked to present official documents or proof of service, he failed to do so.
Following this, Okkanwala Bangla Police registered a case against the accused on the complaint of ASI Maqsood Ahmed under sections 170, 419 and 171 PPC and took the fake police officer into custody.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind impersonation and whether the accused was involved in any other illegal activities.
