SAHIWAL: District Police Officer (DPO) Sahiwal, Muhammad Usman Tipu, has taken immediate notice of an acid attack incident reported in the Ahmed Nagar area of Chichawatni and ordered swift legal action along with a thorough investigation from all angles.
According to a spokesperson for Sahiwal Police, the DPO directed SHO City Police Station Chichawatni, Inspector Noriz Abbas, to ensure prompt action in the case. Acting on these instructions, City Police Chichawatni carried out an effective operation and arrested the accused, identified as Chand son of Anwar, a resident of Ahmed Nagar. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the suspect allegedly threw a chemical resembling acid — reportedly a toilet cleaner — on his paternal aunt, Amina Bibi, over a property dispute. The injured woman was immediately shifted to THQ Hospital Chichawatni, where doctors confirmed that she is now out of danger.
Police officials stated that the final determination regarding the nature of the chemical used will be made after a detailed medical examination.
DPO Muhammad Usman Tipu emphasized that those who take the law into their own hands will be dealt with strictly and assured that the protection of citizens’ lives and property will be ensured at all costs.
