Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Shahid Mahmood paid a surprise visit to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Chichawatni.
Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni Narjis Khatoon Jafri accompanied him. He conducted a detailed inspection of the availability of free medicines and cleanliness. He checked staff attendance, patient complaints, and other administrative arrangements.
Both officers visited the Emergency Department, Outpatient Department (OPD), Laboratory, Medical Store, and various wards.
Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood inquired from patients and attendants about the available facilities.
He also reviewed the availability and stock of medicines at the medical store. He emphasized that all free medicines provided by the government must reach the patients promptly and transparently.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital’s Medical Superintendent to ensure the provision of all possible medical facilities to patients. He directed not to compromise on cleanliness, availability of medicines, and staff attendance.
The visit by the Deputy Commissioner is being considered by the city’s social circles as a positive step towards improving the public health system.
Such inspections by the administration are expected not only to enhance staff performance but also to ensure the provision of quality healthcare facilities to patients.
