Commissioner Sahiwal chairs Water and Sanitation Services Company meeting

A key meeting of the Sahiwal Water and Sanitation Services Company took place at the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal, Dr. Asif Tufail.

The participants reviewed the current cleanliness situation and assessed the company’s performance in detail.

Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti and Director Local Government Shahid Farooq Warraich accompanied him.

Company CEO Iftikhar Ali, Chief Financial Officer Javed Iqbal, General Manager Monitoring Muhammad Aftab, and Senior Manager Monitoring Rizwan Ahmad Marth also attended the meeting.

While addressing the meeting, Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail said, “Providing a clean and healthy environment to the public is our administration’s top priority. We will not tolerate any negligence in this matter.”

He instructed the company to monitor the contractors’ performance daily and to ensure the regular attendance of sanitary workers.

During the briefing, CEO Iftikhar Ali informed the meeting that the company has prepared a fixed weekly cleaning schedule for every village.

After WASA Sahiwal starts operating, the company will only handle solid waste management. He further stated, “Currently, 6,964 sanitation workers are serving in all seven tehsils of the division. We have completed 20 out of 30 temporary collection points.”

CEO Iftikhar Ali also reported, “Since April, we have disposed of 163,641 tons of waste. Out of the 7,677 complaints we received, we have resolved 7,389.”

Commissioner Sahiwal directed the team to prioritize public complaints and improve the quality of services further so that the public can enjoy a clean, healthy, and pleasant environment.
