SAHIWAL: Judge Ziaullah Khan of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court (Hajj), Sahiwal, approved the physical remand of seven arrested officials of the proscribed Tehreek-e-Labbaik and handed them over to Arifwala City Police.
The officials include Asif Ali, Qari Muhammad Zubair, Mutiullah, Muhammad Ramzan, Allah Ditta, Abdullah Jamil, and Syed Muhammad. The court ordered that the accused be produced again on December 29.
According to police, Arifwala City Police had registered a case against the accused under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act and other relevant provisions for staging a protest demonstration at Burewala Chowk on October 19, 2021.
The accused were charged with taking out a procession, chanting slogans against the government, and delivering provocative speeches. The workers of Tehreek-e-Labbaik were also declared proclaimed offenders in the case.
