Stormy Rain in Sahiwal: District Administration Struggles with Drainage

Heavy rain in Sahiwal city caused urban flooding as Municipal Corporation’s drainage systems failed, submerging streets and homes.
According to details, stormy rain has been ongoing in Sahiwal since yesterday’s windstorm and thunderstorm. After five hours of continuous downpour, streets and markets have been flooded, and roads resemble flowing streams.
During this period, the motors of the Fareed Town disposal tube well, the Noorshah Kachar Road disposal tube well, and several others went out of order.
Due to the failure of water drainage systems, water has entered homes in areas including Fareed Town Scheme No. 2 and Scheme No. 3. Officer Colony, Chak 90/9-L, Tariq Bin Ziyad Colony, Sharif Colony, Kot Khadim Ali Shah and Kot Allah Din also facing the same.
The roads remain submerged in dirty water due to the lack of drainage. Citizens have raised serious concerns over the performance of the Municipal Corporation Sahiwal and have demanded immediate action to ensure water drainage.
