Punjab Government to Launch 3 New Sports Schemes in Sahiwal District

The Punjab government will launch three new sports schemes in Sahiwal district to improve sports facilities.
The estimated total cost of these schemes is Rs. 396 million. Deputy Director Development Muhammad Akram Wattoo shared these details while discussing the projects.
He said that to enhance hockey talent, the government will install a synthetic turf at the Sahiwal Hockey Stadium at a cost of Rs. 275 million.
In Chichawatni, the government will construct an open tennis court for Rs. 46 million, and allocate Rs. 75 million for building a hotel and market at Zafar Ali Stadium, Sahiwal.
Muhammad Akram Wattoo further stated that the government will also complete two major ongoing sports-related development projects during the current financial year.
These include the repair and renovation of the Sahiwal Gymnasium with funds of Rs. 34.6 million, and the construction of a sports complex in Chak No. 52/5-L, Tehsil Sahiwal with Rs. 9.946 million.
These funds will provide better sports facilities to the youth of the region, with the total costs amounting to Rs. 109.6 million and Rs. 120 million, respectively.
