During the recent intense spell of monsoon rains in Sahiwal, the city’s sewerage system came under pressure, causing delays in water drainage in various areas.
On the instructions of Commissioner Sahiwal Dr. Asif Tufail, Director Development and Finance Shafiq Ahmad Dogar supervised the field staff to ensure effective water drainage.
He visited GT Road, Arifwala Road, Inayatullah Colony, Hussain Colony and Baba Farid Colony. Shafiq Dogar also visited Faisal Colony, Pir Bukhari Graveyard, Manzoor Park, and Peoples Colony to review the drainage process.
He directed that all disposal stations must be kept functional and instructed all staff to remain in the field until water drainage is fully completed.
Director Development and Finance further stated that in case of power outages, generators should be operated to ensure the rainwater is drained from low-lying areas as quickly as possible.
