Search Begins for Head Coach of Pakistan National Women’s Football Team

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has officially started the process of appointing a new head coach for the Pakistan national women’s football team following the departure of current head coach Adeel.
According to PFF sources, Adeel has stepped down from his role as head coach of the women’s team, prompting the federation to initiate a formal search for a suitable replacement. The decision comes at a crucial time as Pakistan women’s football is preparing for upcoming regional and international competitions.
The PFF has announced clear eligibility criteria for the position, stating that candidates must hold a FIFA or AFC ‘A’ coaching license, which has been made mandatory to ensure international-standard coaching and technical development of the women’s team. The federation aims to strengthen the team’s performance, tactical discipline, and long-term growth through experienced and qualified leadership.
Interested candidates have been invited to submit their applications, with the deadline set for December 22. The federation is expected to receive applications from both local and foreign coaches, as part of its broader strategy to uplift women’s football in Pakistan.
Officials believe that appointing a highly qualified head coach will play a key role in improving Pakistan’s standing in women’s football, enhancing player development programs, and preparing the team for AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, SAFF Women’s Championship, and FIFA-recognized tournaments.
The Pakistan Football Federation has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s football and providing professional opportunities that align with international football standards.
