Okara News: Crackdown on Illegal Petrol Shops; 2 Units Sealed

OKARA (News Correspondent): On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Okara, Ahmed Usman Javed, the Civil Defence Department has launched a vigorous crackdown against illegal petrol agencies across the city. The operation aims to eliminate unauthorized fuel sale points that pose a significant risk to public safety.

Raid and Enforcement

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Civil Defence Officer Javed Akhtar Khichi. During the raids in various localities of the city, the team identified and sealed two illegal petrol shops.

Following the raid:

  • Legal Action: Formal cases (FIRs) have been registered against the owners of the illegal outlets.

  • Confiscation: The authorities seized the available petrol stocks and related dispensing equipment.

Public Safety Concerns

Speaking on the occasion, Civil Defence Officer Javed Akhtar Khichi emphasized that these illegal petrol agencies operate without any safety protocols, making them a “ticking time bomb” in residential and commercial areas.

“Illegal petrol agencies pose a severe threat to human lives and property. They are a primary cause of accidental fires and other untoward incidents,” he stated.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

The official reaffirmed that the district administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward such hazardous activities. He assured the public that the inspection process will continue unabated to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
