PML-N Dominates Sahiwal Division in 2024 General Elections

SAHIWAL – The final results for the National Assembly seats in the Sahiwal Division are in, painting a picture of significant political shifts and stronghold defenses. Covering the districts of Okara, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) emerged as the leading force, securing six out of the nine available seats, while Independent candidates claimed the remaining three.
Okara District: A PML-N Stronghold
Okara remains a bastion for the PML-N, with the party clinching three of the four constituencies.
NA-135: Nadeem Abbas (PML-N) secured a decisive victory with 129,218 votes, defeating Independent Malik Muhammad Akram Bhatti.
NA-136: Riaz ul Haq (PML-N) maintained his lead with 127,095 votes, successfully fending off Independent challenger Rao Hassan Sikandar.
NA-137: In a notable upset for the party, Independent candidate Syed Raza Ali Gillani took the seat with 131,925 votes, beating PML-N’s Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan.
NA-138: Muhammad Mueen Wattoo (PML-N) reclaimed the seat with 122,678 votes, defeating veteran politician Mian Manzoor Ahmed Khan Wattoo.
Pakpattan District: Clean Sweep for PML-N
The PML-N managed to secure both National Assembly seats in the Pakpattan and Arifwala regions.
NA-139: Ahmed Raza Maneka (PML-N) won a tight race with 121,383 votes, narrowly beating Rao Umar Hasham Khan (IND).
NA-140 (Arifwala): Rana Iradat Sharif Khan (PML-N) achieved a massive mandate, polling 139,322 votes against Raja Talia Saeed.
Sahiwal District: Independents Make Their Mark
While PML-N held one seat in Sahiwal, Independent candidates showed strong momentum in the other two constituencies.
NA-141: Syed Imran Ahmed Shah (PML-N) secured the win with 118,240 votes, defeating Rana Amir Shahzad Tahir.
NA-142: Independent candidate Ch Usman Ali emerged victorious with 107,496 votes, surpassing PML-N’s Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf.
NA-143 (Chichawatni): In the highest vote count of the division, Independent candidate Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan dominated with 147,147 votes, leaving runner-up Ch Tufail Jutt far behind.
