MS of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital Removed Over Corruption Allegations

Sahiwal: Dr. Zulfiqar Haider, Medical Superintendent of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital, has been removed from his position following alleged corruption charges.
The Secretary of Specialized Health Punjab has assigned Dr. Khalid Khan, Assistant Professor, as the Acting Medical Superintendent of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. A permanent appointment for the position is expected to be made within the next three months.
In a related development, Additional Secretary Finance Ashfaq Rahman took notice of the construction of a canteen on the site reserved for patients’ relatives and ordered its demolition.
Furthermore, an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the corruption allegations. Dr. Shahid Nadeem and Budget & Accounts Officer Mir Ahmed Ramadan have been appointed as the conveners of the committee. The notification for these appointments was issued by the Principal of Sahiwal Medical College, Professor Dr. Muhammad Akhtar.
